THE DIOR INSTITUTE OF DORCHESTER GROUP IS THE NEW WELLNESS CHALLENGE IN PARIS.

Wellness and beauty will save the world!

Especially in Paris, the new challenge for French fashion houses is to make women’s dream come true: to enter the fairy-tale kingdom of fashion and beauty and be pampered with wellness.

In the Ville Lumière, centre of wellbeing and innovation, a new way of shopping is getting popular. Customers are warmly welcomed at the entrance of anti-stress boutiques, such as in the departments of Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, Comme de Garçon, Maritè+Francois Girbaud, where you can discover areas devoted to rice and mallow massages, meditation, relaxation, and even zen Asian gardens.

During fashion weeks in particular, you can find refined kingdoms of wellness in Paris. Stores of large companies turn into wellness centres or healthy places, surrounded by lush greenery, organic and fresh markets, and biodynamic wine-bars.

The last time I was in Paris, I enjoyed a beautiful experience at the splendid Dior Institute, in Avenue Montagne, of Dorchester Group, located in the prestigious Plaza Atheneé hotel, a true temple of fashion, beauty, and wellness!

Madame Mèlina Pourcel, Director of the Dior Institute and Madame Isabel Maurin, Communications Manager of Plaza Atheneé hotel were both extremely professional and welcomed me warmly.

Treatments include a wide range of unique rituals, matching Dior Science, which for over 40 years has achieved new goals in terms of excellence and innovation, thanks to 260 researchers and three research centres in France, China, and Japan. They are highly experienced in the most ground-breaking disciplines: molecular biology, chemical dermatology, genomics, and ethnobotany.

This really is a pioneer science, in the service of a beautiful skin and long-lasting youth, with a deep understanding of the use of liposomes in the anti-ageing revolutionary Capture series, the development of aquaporins with the Hydra Life line, that makes water pass from one cell to another, and the discovery of stem cells, with Capture Totale, to slow-down cellular ageing.

I experienced the Hydra Life Sorbet treatment, lasting 90 minutes, a creamy sorbet enriched with mallow and Haberlea leaves, which hydrated and rebalanced my irritable and sensitive skin, leaving a pleasant feeling of freshness and brightness.

My experience ended with a 90 minute massage on a super soft and padded massage bed, surrounded by soft light and a shiny Swarovski cabin, thanks to the expert and professional hands of a high-profile therapist who was able to find and release my trigger-points.

At the end of the treatments, guests receive the Dior Allure, i.e., a beauty treatment of make-up and perfume.

During my Parisian sojourn, I also tried a special face treatment in the precious Spa of the Four Season George V hotel, specifically the Carita Perfect Gold Antiaging Facial, inspired by 24-carat gold that enhances the production of collagen fibres, with a promise of long-lasting beauty confirmed by expert dermatologists. Women can be beautiful now and in 20 years, by maintaining and nourishing the resources of skin youth.

I immediately felt a lifting effect, the reduction of frown lines and a rejuvenating effect even for eye contour. This ritual was followed by an unforgettable massage with the physical therapist Eric, a mixture of purification, relaxation, and energetic techniques, which restored my posture and balance.

I am deeply interested into the holistic approach, therefore I decided to experience the Six Senses Spa, where I trusted Emmanuelle, a skilful therapist who had lived in Asia for dozens of years and made me enjoy an amazing oriental massage relying on the 5 natural elements. The massage was customised with the resonance of singing bowls, placed on each chakra, to rebalance energy and contained in a fairy-tale cocoon made of oak wood.

There are other stunning well-living temples in Paris, like the elegant Spa La Prairie in Bristol hotel, the Hotel Mandarin Oriental’s Spa, with an ozone pool and treatments inspired by Chinese medicine and aromatherapy, the Spa Valmont in Meurice hotel, the Peninsula hotel’s Spa, a meeting point between East and West, Clarins’ Spa in Le Royal Monceau Raffles hotel, the artistic Spa L’échappèe and the Shangri-La hotel’s Spa.

After all, to quote Enrique Vila-Matas, “Paris never ends”, especially in wellness!
