In Italy it is easy to discover charming wellness locations, where you can relax, enjoy healthy nutrition, and take care of your body. Specifically, in Umbria, in the hearth of Italy, at Borgobrufa Spa Resort, it is possible to search for the heart of wellness, in a XVIII century mansion surrounded by an eternal enchanting land facing the landscape of Perugia and Assisi. I have recently discovered this new place of well-living and escape. It is located in unique beautiful scenery, on the green hills of Perugia described by Giosuè Carducci, and it is a country-chic village full of wellness rituals, with pathways and treatments created by wellness professionals: a heavenly garden of water and saunas for a Spa-holiday devoted to pleasure. During my stay there, I had the chance of interviewing the Resort director, Mr. Andrea Sfascia, who has worked in agricultural enterprises for over 35 years. Then, he suddenly decided to create Borgobrufa Spa Resort, in order to provide his guests with the best relaxation, among gardens, olive groves, and vineyards and the best service. He increased the Spa and restaurant quality by collaborating with the Coldiretti project “Filiera Agricola Tutta Italiana”, branded “Campagna Amica”, with the aim of promoting local agricultural fresh and seasonal products, which respect culinary traditions and seasons and without GMOs, in order to meet everyone’s needs and contribute to the development of a natural and environmentally friendly economy. Chiara, the Spa manager, welcomed me in the magical emotional pathway and, in one of the saunas, revealed the philosophy of all treatments, which are created by them and offered with love and passion, just like their 100% natural cosmetic products that are produced on site, with local raw materials, such as extra virgin olive oil, wine, and local truffles. It truly mirrors the concept of a zero km Spa!
After the relaxing and regenerating “beauty massage” I also tried “Ho’oponopono Hawaiian massage“, which is more suitable for couples and is performed with long and deep movements, hot oils, and natural music, like sounds from sea waves. It allows for reconnection with the space of the heart, in a delicate, sweet, silent, and fluid way. The entire Spa is a path of internal and external pools with hot water, whirlpools, showers, cervical jets, steam baths, and sauna, to enjoy pure relaxation. I deeply appreciated the experience in the salt Temple, a high temperature lake with high salt concentration, where you can float enjoying underwater musical therapy and chromotherapy, for muscle relaxation, respiratory purification and depuration, and then spend some time in the relaxing area.
Chef Ciro D’Amico is the king of nutrition, with a passion for seasonal raw materials and a talent for charming your palate and your eyes. He creates tasty dishes that look like gastronomical artworks and are healthy and local, matched with a great selection of wines. He has been the manager of Borgobrufa Spa Resort’s “4 Senses” restaurantfor over 2 years but he has a large professional experience in starred restaurants such as Villa D’Este in Cernobbio, Badrutt’s in St. Moritz, and Faro di Capo D’Orso in Maiori. I realised that Borgobrufa Spa Resort is the right place where you can live in harmony and retrieve your well-deserved rest, because you are surrounded by authentic nature and embraced by wellness. A true restoring gift for the soul and the body. A few days long fairy-tale on the Spa planet! (Raphaella Dallarda – INSPATIMEBLOG)
